The "Omni" modular storage system is a brilliant design from the George Nelson office. Created in 1956 for Structural Products, it features aluminum uprights which support a variety of components: cabinets, shelves, desks and lamps, all of which can be configured in the manner which best suits the owner's needs.
 
This unit features five tension-mount uprights, yielding four 32" bays with three cabinets and eight shelves (the lamps in the photos are no longer available).
