This wonderful large 1976 abstraction titled "Kalpanika" (Imaginary) by Indian artist Setlur Gopal Vasudev (b. 1941) is pure visual delight. A cacophony of squiggly lines, shapes, patterns, textures, and rich colors congregating on a muted field weave in and out as imagery appears and disappears. The ethereal and rhythmic movement on the canvas suggests a fantasy and the dynamics of a symphony.
